A ridiculously funny, brash, over-the-top, musical small town comedy about a wannabe Vegas lounge singer and the decent mountain town that takes him in.
A sixties-style crooner who says he is from Vegas, and whose charisma barely hides panic. He calls himself “fancy-nasty”: all charm and ego, but never intentionally cruel. He’s a showman who believes that if he ever stops performing, the darkness will catch up. He has big dreams, bigger insecurities, and is awkward, petty and delusional - offstage: onstage he is pure magic, a world class crooner who can bring down the house.
Beneath the bravado, Ricky is a man in crisis, chasing a dream that may never come. But perhaps what he needs isn’t Vegas at all...maybe it’s community, acceptance and a spotlight in the unlikeliest places.
A magnificent singer, a terrible planner, but a good man under the glitter..
about RICKY
The show celebrates music, community, and redemption through humour that’s warm, sharp and very irreverent. Imagine Ted Lasso’s optimism, Northern Exposure’s eccentric small-town charm, and the comedic bite of Veep, all capped off with a showstopping musical finale. Speaking of music, have a listen:
